15 years in the martial arts
I began martial arts in the early 90's. Achieving my 1st black belt in Kempo
Karate. Feeling that something was missing, I began to research martial arts
styles.
The most
important discovery I made was that a fight has 3 stages:1st – Striking – stand up
fighting; 2nd -Clinching – where the fighters can grab each other and choke, throw,
trip, etc.. 3rd
– Ground fighting – here the fight usually ends in some form of grappling
and submission. I searched many schools for a martial art of almost mixed styles
that would provide all the real world, complete training that I felt was needed.
Wabujitsu was the answer I had been looking for. I hope it will provide what you
are looking for as well !
WABUJITSU - What It Is and What to Expect
Wabujitsu is a system of Ju-Jitsu recognized and accepted by the United
States Ju-Jitsu Federation (USJJF), the National Governing Body of Ju-Jitsu
in the United States for the Ju-Jitsu
International Federation (JJIF). It is a dynamic system of combat and
self-defense that allows the practitioner to learn common-sense, SIMPLE and
direct methods to avoid and/or survive a violent encounter. It consists of
impact techniques (such as punches and kicks), controlling techniques (such as
joint locks), throwing techniques, and ground-fighting techniques. It is
presented with strategy and tactics that makes sense within a modern context.
Adult students are also taught other options of a more combative nature.
